Most social media companies are doing everything to keep you on screen. We're doing everything to get you offscreen.

How it works

1

Select your daily post limit and we'll serve you a fresh set of posts every morning.

2

A waiting room gives you a moment to pause and decide if you want to open your feed. Before a single post loads.

3

Once you've read your daily posts, offscreen prompts you to do something more intentional with your time.

Your account. Not ours.

offscreen is built on the AT Protocol, a new way to build social networks. This means you own the connections you make here and can take them with you to other apps if you ever leave.

With 40M+ accounts on the network, all your favourite creators and publishers are already here.

Questions answered

What is the AT Protocol?

Most social apps are walled gardens. They own your posts, connections, account and data. If someone builds a new innovative social media app it never takes off because your friends and followers are stuck on the original. This lack of competition leads to a lack of choice and that's bad for everyone except the people running the app.

offscreen is built differently. It's built on a decentralised network called the AT Protocol, meaning your account, your follows, and your posts belong to you. Anyone can build on the open protocol, so when a new innovative app comes along, all your connections and the content you love can appear there too without starting from scratch.

With 40M+ accounts already on the network, the people you want to follow are already there.

Can I log in with my Bluesky account?

Yes, you can log in with any account made on an AT Protocol app, including Bluesky.

Can I bypass the post limit?

You set the limit of how many posts you want to see in a day but once you hit that limit your feed closes for the day and offscreen will prompt you to step away from your phone. No way around it — the friction is the feature.

Social media that ends.
